In 2011, AirPower West (APW) is offering $2000 college scholarships for up to 1 deserving individual that is seeking advanced education in an aviation related field in the coming school year. The APW Scholarship program is designed to recognize and assist high school graduates and current college students who have demonstrated dedication and interest in pursuing aviation related careers. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and must either be attending or enrolled to attend a Colorado school with an aviation related program. Funds awarded through this scholarship program must be applied to tuition in an aviation related program and will be directly paid to the institution being attended on behalf of the scholarship winner. Funds shall not be used for flight training. The selection of scholarship recipients will be based on academic accomplishment, work experience, community and school activities, a personal application statement including the applicant’s career goals in aviation, and a personal interview. This program is funded by AirPower West members, and revenues gathered through AirPower West fundraising activities through the year.

• Aims Community College

• Emily Griffith Opportunity School

• Funds awarded are to go toward tuition and will be paid directly to the institution

• Funds shall not be used for flight training.

• Final determination of a program's status as an aviation related program is at the sole discretion of the APW Scholarship Committee.

• Final determination of scholarship recipients will be by the APW Scholarship Committee.

• Applicants must complete the APW Scholarship Application Form (available on the APW website at www.airpowerwest.org) to be considered for the scholarships
